Sean Flynn Memorial Scholarship
The Sean Flynn Memorial Scholarship began in 2024 and is a specific restricted fund in the SVSEF Athlete Endowment, and provides two annual awards of $750.00 each to help offset ski team tuition costs. Each year, one scholarship is awarded to an athlete on the SVSEF Alpine U12 Team, and the other to an athlete on the SVSEF Cross Country Prep Team.
This annual scholarship award is selected by staff based on the financial need, work ethic and passion for the mountains and sliding on snow. These awards are given in perpetuity at the conclusion of the winter season to be applied the following winter.
While Sean enjoyed many outdoor sports, there was nothing that Sean loved to do more than he loved to ski. For years, before he had kids, Sean would get to work in the early hours, put in a few hours, and then head to the mountain for most of the ski day. Then he would head back to work and stay into the night to finish his workday. Once Sean had kids, while he made sure to find time to take a few turns on his own, he was also committed to sharing his love for skiing with his three boys.
Sean would love nothing more than to share the sport that he loved with kids who would not otherwise have the opportunity to ski.
The Sean Flynn Memorial Scholarship Trophy with the recipients names resides in the SVSEF Training Center at Warm Springs.
