Big Mountain Teams

The SVSEF Big Mountain programs provide a comprehensive pathway for athletes progressing from the junior to high school level, designed to develop strong, versatile skiers and riders with a passion for freeride. Beginning with the Jr. Big Mountain Team, athletes in grades 6–8 build a foundation in all-mountain skiing through a blend of big mountain, park, and natural terrain, while developing creativity, confidence, and fundamental technical skills. As athletes advance to the Big Mountain Team, the focus shifts toward higher-level performance and competition, with structured training centered on IFSA judging criteria, line selection, and mountain awareness. High school athletes compete in IFSA 2* and 3* events, gaining experience at both regional and national levels with full coaching support. Across all levels, the program emphasizes progression, sportsmanship, and personal growth, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves and reach their full potential both on and off the mountain.
