Overview
The Jr Big Mountain Team is for passionate 6-8th-grade skiers who want to push their skills across the mountain and explore IFSA Big Mountain competitions. This program focuses on all-around freeskiing fundamentals. We will blend big mountain, park, and natural terrain to prepare athletes for IFSA events and the SVSEF Big Mountain Team.
Jr. Big Mountain Team athletes are ready to have fun and are excited about skiing! They love exploring and adventuring around the entire mountain and developing an eye to see creative lines. Training includes advancing strong skiing fundamentals through big mountain specific drills, line selection, park skiing, technique, developing your own style and energy, hitting cliffs, and natural features. Off-snow work at the Air Barn focuses on air awareness and basic acrobatics to support freeski progression.
Coaches promote a positive and progressive team-driven environment that helps each athlete grow as a skier and as a person. Athletes are expected to communicate, be respectful, responsible, and show up ready to be a member of the team. They will get out what they put in!
