Pete Patterson Trophy

Between 1982-2016, the Pete Patterson Trophy was awarded to the Fastest U10 Male at the Roy Hobson Memorial Race. Since 2017, it has been awarded to the Fastest U10 Male at the Gary Black, Jr. Memorial Race.

Between 1982-2016, the Pete Patterson Trophy was awarded to the Fastest U10 Male at the Roy Hobson Memorial Race. Since 2017, it has been awarded to the Fastest U10 Male at the Gary Black, Jr. Memorial Race.

Pete was a Sun Valley native and skied for the Sun Valley Ski Team from 1965-1975. As a member of the U.S. Ski Team from 1975-80, he represented Team USA at the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria and the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, NY. 

Pete went on to coach the Sun Valley Ski Team in the early 1980’s.

Award recipients’ names are engraved on the Pete Patterson Trophy, which is displayed in the SVSEF Training Center at Warm Springs.
