Athletes test their quest for speed at new Super G training and race event

The SVSEF Alpine U14 IMD Team traveled to the El Pescado U14 Super G Qualifier held Feb. 7-10 at Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, ID. The El Pescado serves as a qualifier for the Tri-Divisional Championships at Jackson Hole March 18-21 and the U14 Western Region Junior Championships at Mammoth March 27-30.

For the boys, SVSEF’s Henry Questad won all three races, sweeping the Super G series. Teammate Cameron Beck raced to a third place podium finish in Race 1. For the girls, Savannah Pringle and Piper Spengler both finished on the podium in Race 1 in third and fifth place respectively. Pringle was just off the podium in sixth place in Races 2 and 3, while Spengler grabbed a top ten finish in Race 3.

“We had a great weekend at Tamarack!” said Charlotte Gourlay, SVSEF Alpine U14 IMD Team Head Coach. “Ths was the first ever Super G race for many of our athletes, and we saw some amazing progress throughout the series.”
