Team Overview

The Snowboard Progression team is designed for riders who has been on the team for a few years and are excited about competition, being introduced to travel and are ready to continue to grow their skill set. Progression’s focus is on becoming more dynamic riders and competing in local, regional and industry competitions by utilizing a variety of venues and terrain options (i.e., park, gates, cross racing and off-piste freeriding).

Coaches will continue to work with Progression riders to develop their own unique style and support their growth as well-rounded riders. This program will introduce competitive elements locally that are age and skill appropriate. First year riders on this team should expect to compete in the home USASA event, Baldy Banked Slalom, and the USASA Big Mountain West circuit. Returning riders to this team should be targeting several opportunities to travel to regional USASA Big Mountain West series events, Baldy Banked Slalom and select industry/resort events and potentially USASA Nationals.

Travel opportunities with parents will be offered to riders 7th grade and below, while team travel will be available to riders 8th grade and up. Summer camp opportunities will also be offered to riders at this level. Dedicated Air Barn sessions will be scheduled on a regular basis to develop air awareness and mechanics related to snowboarding throughout the season. Progression riders will be provided the opportunity to ride with the Mini Shred team, as well as, joint training sessions with the Travel Team and coaches.

This is the team where riders continue to build their snowboard community – we ride together and encourage progression!
