Team camaraderie and unity translates to strong performances on the race course

SVSEF Alpine Women’s FIS Team Travels North to WR FIS Devo Speed Series

The Western Region FIS Devo Speed Series hosted fifty women for two Downhill and two Super G races at Schweitzer Mountain, ID Jan. 26-30. The SVSEF Alpine Women’s FIS Team came away with strong results, yielding top-five and top-ten finishes over the course of the four events.

“This race series was an incredible opportunity for our team to challenge themselves on a high-caliber track and gain valuable experience in speed events,” said Anika Angriman, SVSEF Alpine FIS Women’s Team Head Coach. “The venue provided ideal conditions, and the team took full advantage, showing both skill and determination.”

In the Downhill races, SVSEF had two top-five finishes, and in the Super-G, the team’s depth was on full display with five racers in the top ten and three in the top five in both races.

“I’m especially proud of the way our athletes supported each other, creating a strong and positive team atmosphere,” said Angriman. “That unity translated into great performances on the hill. These results reflect the hard work put in every day by our athletes and staff. I am confident that the lessons learned here will only make us stronger moving forward.”
