Team Overview

Striders is an introductory learn-to-cross-country-ski program for South Valley elementary age skiers, grades K through 1. This is a great opportunity for young skiers to learn the basics of ski sport. The Striders program runs for a much shorter duration than Devo South, it is five weeks long at Quigley Nordic Center, from January 27, 2024 – March 8, 2025. We teach an introduction to classic skiing technique, with a focus on the fundamentals. SVSEF Coordinates after school transportation from the local public elementary schools to the training center in partnership with the Blaine County School District.

All Striders athletes will be provided with ski equipment (skis, boots, poles) for the duration of the program. The coaching staff is always available to answer and problem-solve equipment questions for participants. Children should wear ski appropriate clothing.
