Overview
The Prep team meets 3 sessions per week, with most practices held at the Lake Creek Training Center. Training includes 1 day a week summer dryland team sessions, in addition to 3 days per week fall dryland and on-snow sessions in the winter.
Prep team skiers train in both classic and skate techniques and have the option to participate in dryland and on-snow training camps. No ski experience is required for participation. SVSEF has transportation options available to and from practice. Transportation questions should be directed to kelley@svsef.org.

Summer Dryland:
June 11 – August 20, 2025
Training sessions: Wednesdays 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Alternating weeks Rollerskiing at Sage Willow complex and dryland at Lake Creek.
Fall Dryland:
Begins – October 15, 2025
Training sessions three days a week Mon/Wed/Fri 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
On-Snow:
Transition to on-snow training is dependent on snowpack; start date is variable.
Training sessions three days a week.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. includes indoor strength and waxing.
Season end date: March 13, 2026
- An age-appropriate U.S. Ski & Snowboard license is required in addition to base tuition fees.
- Required BCRD passes are included in team fees and are provided by the team.
Grades: 6-8
No ski experience is required.
- Must be independent; able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied.
- Must be able to care for and maintain all ski equipment.
- Responsible and accountable for hydration, nutrition, and proper layering for any weather.
- Respect teammates, coaches, parents, and all mountain employees at all times.
- Complete knowledge of Mountain Safety Policies.
- Must adhere to SVSEF’s Code of Conduct.
Skiers are responsible for having both skate and classic equipment.
- Classic skis should be waxable (no skins or fishscales)
- 2 pairs of poles
- Combi boots ok.
Lease programs and purchases facilitated by staff. Equipment can be supplied on a per-need basis.
Racing is not required, however there are a number of opportunities available for athletes to participate in local and regional ski events, commensurate with development age.

Optional team ski jackets, training pants, race suits, and ski hats are available for purchase during the season.
