Overview
The Freeski Progression Team serves as a feeder program for Freeski Futures Team and Big Mountain Team. The skills that an athlete gains with the Freeski Progression team will help them step up to the next level. Athletes on this team will develop skills that prepare to be better skiers focusing on park, pipe, rails, jibbing, and all-mountain skills.
TEAM FOCUS
The Freeski Progression USASA Team emphasizes learning and competing in slopestyle, big air, and rail jams. Athletes will have opportunities to travel with their parents to USASA Big Mountain West Series regional events.

TRAINING LOCATIONS
The team will train on the mountains, focusing on park, pipe, rails, jibbing, and all-mountain skills. Athletes must be able to ski all-terrain in varying conditions. Training will cover essential skills such as hitting jumps, quarter-pipes, hips, rails, cat tracks, cliffs, and other jib features. Additional off-snow training will be available at the Air Barn, emphasizing air awareness and basic acrobatics related to freeskiing.
ATHLETE PROFILE
Athletes on the Freeski Progression Team are passionate about skiing terrain parks and enjoying powder conditions when available. Training camps and competition opportunities are provided by SVSEF, with separate costs for each project in addition to tuition.
Fall Dryland:
October 15, 2025 – November 20, 2025
Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:00pm
Winter Training:
December 5, 2025 – March 30, 2026
Wednesday (On-Snow) 1:30pm-4:00pm
Thursdays and Fridays (On-Snow) 2:00pm-4:00pm
Thursdays (Air Barn) 4:30pm-5:30pm (transportation to the Air Barn after practice is available most days)
Saturdays (On-Snow) 10:00am-2:00pm
5 additional Air Barn sessions on Saturday mornings 10:00am-11:00am (transportation to the hill after the session will be available)
Additional camp opportunities, subject to enrollment.

- Must purchase SVSEF/Blaine County Student Season Pass through Sun Valley Company for current season.
- Rotarun platter lift access included for all training days. If your athlete wants to ski all season on non-training days, Rotarun Season Passes are available online at rotarun.org.
- Must purchase General Membership from U.S. Ski & Snowboard.
- Must purchase USASA Membership for Big Mountain West.
10-13 years old
Ski all conditions anywhere anytime.
- Must be independent; able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied.
- Must be able to care for and maintain all ski equipment.
- Responsible and accountable for hydration, nutrition, and proper layering for any weather.
- Respect teammates, coaches, parents, and all mountain employees at all times.
- Complete knowledge of Mountain Safety Policies.
- Must adhere to SVSEF’s Code of Conduct.

Weekly emails on Tuesdays to parents including updates on plans based on weather, venue availability, etc.
