Team Overview
This team is a feeder program for Freeski Futures Team and Big Mountain Team. The skills that an athlete gains with the Freeski Progression team will help them step up to the next level. The Freeski Progression Team’s focus is on learning about and competing in slopestyle, halfpipe, big air, big mountain and rail jams with the opportunity to travel to USASA Big Mountain West Series regional and IFSA Jr. events with parents. Coaches will support 2-3 regional events plus the USASA National Championships at Copper and IFSA Jr Championships.
This team will ski Dollar and Baldy to further develop park, pipe, rails, jibbing and all mountain skills. Athletes must be able to ski all-terrain in varying conditions. The ski skills this team will be learning is to hit jumps, quarter-pipes, hips, rails, cat tracks, cliffs and other jib features while simultaneously advancing ski fundamentals. There will also be off-snow training available at the Air Barn. Off and on-snow training will focus on air awareness skills and basic acrobatics in relation to freeskiing.
Athletes on this team love to ski the terrain park and POW when the conditions call for it. SVSEF will offer training camp and competition opportunities. Each project has a separate cost in addition to tuition.
