A Yeti, a Pickle, A Camel, and Scooby Doo meet at BCRD Quigley Nordic…
Cross Country Community rallies yet again for an epic day of fun for the kiddos
The stage was set for the annual Papoose Club Nordic Cup with clear skies, beautiful tracks, and slightly warmer temperatures for one of the best events of the season.
The music started at 8:23am on Saturday morning as we welcomed this year’s 2025 Nordic Cup, and it is always a great day when more than sixty kids put on a race bib (and some glitter) and ski as fast as they can while being shepherded around the course by our older skiers—this year dressed as a Yeti, a pickle, a camel, and Scooby Doo, among others.
We are grateful for the Papoose Club and BCRD as well as our community of parents, coaches and volunteers who help to put on this amazing event!
“The Nordic Cup has quickly become one of my favorite races of the year,” said Lexie Praggastis, SVSEF XC Devo South Head Coach. “The atmosphere at any Nordic race is unmatched in my (completely unbiased 😉) opinion and the Nordic Cup continues to set the bar for fun – a Yeti race, glitter, cookies, Papoose Club schwag, and the whole stadium counting down every race! It is such a joy to watch these skiers put into practice what we’ve been discussing all year. I want to thank John Reuter for all his work as Chief of Race, as well as our countless volunteers and coaches.”
Krista Gehrke, President of The Papoose Club, shared, “We are proud to partner with SVSEF to host the annual Nordic Cup at BCRD Quigley Nordic. What a fantastic day providing a free, fun-filled day of outdoor activity for the kids. Big thanks to our community for coming together to make this happen. Next up, Kindercup!”
