Spectator Guidelines

Spectators we encourage you to come out to support skiers in the 2024 Sun Valley FIS Spring Series. We love spectators and we are grateful for your support and encouragement of the athletes. This section sets out the guidelines for spectators and some pro tips for best strategies to watch the races. The event web site includes a detailed schedule of events course maps and start lists for each day to help you plan your spectating strategy.

Guidelines:

  • All parking is off-site and involves a shuttle. The parking and shuttle plans are explained on the event website.
    • Pro Tip: Allow extra time to account for parking and shuttle. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Lake Creek and Galena parking lots/bus drop-offs to the start and finish area at each venue.
  • Spectators are not allowed to spectate on skis but must walk to all viewing areas.
    • Pro Tip: Don’t bring skis to spectate—they only get in the way and again, skiing on course is not allowed by anyone other than racers and credentialed coaches.
  • Spectators are permitted to walk on the side of the trails to spectate but must keep well out of the way of skiers and avoid impacting the groomed part of the trail.
    • Pro tip: Pay attention!
  • There will be course control volunteers on course. They are there to help ensure the safety of both spectators and skiers. Please thank them and follow all their instructions for spectating.
  • There are a number of spectator control gates with course control monitors—please follow their instructions for crossing.
  • There will be fencing at the bottom of hills or high traffic areas and spectators are required to stay behind the fence.
  • In the stadium there are sections reserved for competitors, coaches and race officials only. Please respect these areas.
  • No pets allowed please. Lake Creek Ski Trails are a No Dog Ski Area.
