U16 Western Region Championships 2023

The U.S. Ski & Snowboard U16 Western Region Championships is a championship event for racers ages 14 and 15 years old only, from the five divisions of the Western Region. The five divisions include: Alaska, Far West, Intermountain, Northern, and Pacific Northwest.

Monday March 20th / Super G Hill inspection / Free Ski

Athlete Venue Inspection:

  • Women 10:00am to 10:30am
  • Men 10:15am to 10:45am

Super G Hill Free Ski

  • Women 10:50am to 11:50am
  • Men 11:50am to 12:50pm

*Hill free ski is not mandatory. We will be starting the athletes on an interval and will have yellow flags for safety.

RACE EVENT SCHEDULE

Tuesday, March 21st / Super G Race

  • Men’s inspection 8:15am to 9:15am
  • Women’s inspection 8:30am to 9:30am
  • Men’s Start: 9:45am
  • Women’s Start: 11:00am

Wednesday, March 22nd / WR U16 Championship Super G

  • Men’s inspection 8:15am to 9:15am
  • Women’s inspection 8:30am to 9:30am
  • Men’s Start: 9:45
  • Women’s Start: 11:00

*U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s High Performance Staff Presentation at the Sun Valley Community School Auditorium—6:00pm for Parents.

Thursday, March 23rd / Men’s Championship SL and Women’s Championship GS

  • Men’s SL Run 1 inspection 8:15-8:45am
  • Men’s SL Run 1 start time 9:00am
  • Men’s SL Run 2 inspection 10:00-10:30am
  • Men’s SL Run 2 start time 10:45am
  • Women’s GS Run 1 inspection 10:15-10:45am
  • Women’s GS Run 1 Start time 12:00pm
  • Women’s GS Run 2 inspection 1:00-1:30pm
  • Women’s GS Run 2 start 1:45pm

*Banquet at the Sun Valley Limelight Room 6:00pm

*Awards for the first three days will be presented at 7:00pm. Free admittance into the award ceremony.

Friday, March 24th / Women’s Championship SL and Men’s Championship GS

  •  Women’s Run 1 inspection 8:15-8:45
  • Women’s Run 1 start time 9:00am
  • Women’s Run 2 inspection 10:00-10:30am
  • Women’s Run 2 start time 10:45am
  • Men’s GS Run 1 inspection 10:15-10:45am
  • Men’s GS Run 1 Start time 12:00pm
  • Men’s GS Run 2 inspection 1:00-1:30pm
  • Men’s GS Run 2 start 1:45pm

*Awards for last day will be presented after the race in the Warm Springs Base Area
