44th Annual Baldy Hill Climb

Hike It or Race It—STRAIGHT. UP. WARM SPRINGS.
Always the last Saturday in September… you can count on it!

2022 will be the 44th year of suffering at the infamous Baldy Hill Climb, hosted by SVSEF!
What are you in for? 1.86 miles and 3,140 vertical feet—straight up from the bottom of Warm Springs to Lookout Lodge at the top of Bald Mountain.

All participants receive an event t-shirt, a refuel at the summit aid station, and a ride down on the Challenger Lift.
$100 bonus on the line for anyone in the Race division who topples a course record.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23
3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Packet Pick-Up at Backwoods Mountain Sports, 711 N Main Street, Ketchum

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
8:00 a.m. Packet Pick-Up outside Warm Springs Lodge
8:30 a.m. Kinder Climb Start – 300 vertical feet – est. 5-10 minutes to complete. (Free for kiddos under 11 years. No pre-registration. Register in-person on event morning).
9:00 a.m. Hike Start (and participant bag shuttles leave for the top)
10:00 a.m. Race Start (and participant bag shuttles leave for the top)
12 p.m. Estimated Awards Start Time at the TOP – could be a little earlier, could be a little later, it’s all good!

*Chairlift does not transport spectators to the top of the mountain.

**In the event of poor air quality on race morning (above 100), the event will be cancelled. Final decision will be called by the race organizers by 8:00 a.m. race morning and notice will be posted here on svsef.org and emailed to registrants’ email addresses provided during registration at RunSignUp.com. AQI level will be sourced from airnow.gov

NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.

Refund Policy: In the event of a cancellation of the Baldy Hill Climb due to unfavorable environmental conditions; there is no refund of the participant entry fee. The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation incurs significant costs in advance of the race and as a non-profit cannot incur financial loss associated with the event. In the event of cancellation, participants registered for the 2022 event will be extended a reduced entry fee of $25.00 for the 2023 Baldy Hill Climb.
