Ed and Erik’s Epic Expedition for up to 6

It’s a mountaineering match made in high-altitude heaven. Renowned climbers Ed Viesturs and Erik Leidecker are offering a five-year peak performance plan that will have you scaling Idaho’s grandest peaks with two of the most accomplished guides on the Eddie Bauer-First Ascent Team – not to mention American climbing lore.

Viesturs’ feats are legendary: seven successful summits of Mt. Everest, the only American to scale all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks without supplemental oxygen, and 213-and counting–ascents of Washington’s Mt. Rainer. Despite his talent for getting to the top, Viesturs is well known for his mantra, “Getting to the summit is optional. Getting down is mandatory.”

Few guides are as familiar with the Idaho backcountry and its mountains than Erik Leidecker. An SVSEF alumni, Leidecker is co-owner of Sawtooth Mountain Guides with more than two decades of skiing and climbing experience. Beyond the borders of Idaho, Leidecker, an internationally licensed IFMGA Mountain Guide, has climbed and guided extensively throughout the American West, European Alps and South America.

Chart your course over regional mountain ranges, including the Sawtooth, Lost River, Pioneers, Boulders, and City of Rocks. Ed and Erik are teaming up to take you there and back on five  once-in-a-lifetime experiences over a span of five years.
