SVSEF alumni form a unique community that reaches across the United States and around the world. The SVSEF Alumni Association is intended to support continuing engagement for athletes, both while they are in the program and beyond.
Adele Savaria, head coach of the Alpine North Series team, has seen the organization from all sides – she’s been a coach, mother of athletes, and an athlete herself. “They learned how to move on from race days that didn’t go so well and know there is always another day that will be better,” Adele said of her sons’ experience. “I am always telling the parents and kids I coach that they will learn all of these skills and that the ski racing is a “bonus” to all of it.” READ MORE ->
In a very direct way, Geoff Unger ’97 still uses the skills he learned as a SVSEF moguls skier today. After leaving the Wood River Valley, he attended Colorado College before pursuing a career in mountain guiding. An American Mountain Guides Association Certified Rock, Alpine and Ski Guide with over 15 years of experience, Geoff now calls Rosendale, New York home, where he owns and operates Extreme Alpine. Known locally for his iconic Idahome line, Corey Warren ’04 now resides in Seattle, where he focuses on a career in design. Having delved into different schools, cities and companies, Corey has found that “defining success takes experience, plain and simple. One has to live life and learn what they resonate with, what makes them tick, what incentivizes them and what challenges them.” READ MORE –>
Taylor Sundali, SVSEF ’08, is changing the way small businesses grow with their online presence. From studying at Middlebury College to running Compass, his own company, Taylor has applied values learned at SVSEF – first and foremost, a strong work ethic. READ MORE –>
